The video captures Richmond Hill businessman addressing Guyana PPP/Civic's presidential candidate Mr. Irfaan Ali as "the next President of Guyana" to the audience gathered at Villa Russo on 3rd February 2019. With elections looming in Guyana over the fall of the multiracial coalition government after a no-confidence vote in the National Assembly in December, 2018, brought PPP/Civic's presidential candidate Mr. Irfan Ali on an election campaign trail to New York city; seeking the support of Guyanese Diaspora in USA.
At the end of the event I managed to get a nice handshake photo with Mr. Irfaan Ali who may become the next president of Guyana. After that handshake, covid sets in and handshakes were forbidden for the next two years.
After a tumultuous disputed election on March 2nd 2020, former Guyana housing minister Mr. Irfaan Ali was sworn in as president of the newly oil-producing South American country, on Sunday the 2nd of August 2020 after he was declared winner following a recount.

His Excellency President Irfaan Ali was in New York City to attend the 2022 UN General Assembly. On Sunday 18th of September 2022, he addressed the Guyanese diaspora gathered at an Interfaith forum in Jamaica Performing Arts Center highligting his "One Guyana Vision" and the development progress happening in Guyana.
